karasita asked:
Im dating someone in the states, who im pretty sure im in love with. however, i live in Lima, Peru, and have found someone here that im interested in. Should i give up on keeping the relationship back home, or should i hold on to what we’ve got, and forget about starting a relationship here in Peru?

Flip a coin, or try both, one at a time or in pairs.
keep them both
Oh karasita, I’ve been in your situation and it is so tough to choose between someone who has been there for you for awhile, and someone new that you develop a connection with. The best advice I can give is to think about all the factors, including where you want to be in the future. Are you planning on coming back to the States to be with your guy anytime soon? Is he planning on moving out to Peru? If you don’t see a future with the guy from the States, then break it off. But if this guy from Peru only seems like a temporary thing, maybe talk to your man back in the States. Tell him you might need a break for a little while, or even ask him how he feels about you two being so far apart.
I guess what I’m saying is talk to both of them, and try to be as honest as possible. Lying will only hurt people later. Whatever you decide, the other will be okay. And the more open you are, the better chance you have of maintaining some kind of friendship with both of them. Good luck!
