I’m looking for something to participate in this summer, but as I’m not a very experienced traveller (I’ve been to lots of places in Western Europe but don’t really feel ready to go somewhere really far flung on my own) I’m looking for something I can do that’s not too far from home (i’m in the UK). Perhaps France, Spain, Italy etc…
I wouldn’t mind volunteering, teaching, learning or working – any of them. I would just love to travel this summer, regardless.
I’ve looked at lots of different websites but there doesn’t seem to be anything that’s not somewhere like India or Peru.
Could anyone suggest anything?

Apparently Spain also carried out this practice until about 50 years ago. Is this true… surely not?
